WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 20, 2020) – Robert D. Broeksmit, CMB, President and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), made the following statement about President Donald Trump’s intention to nominate Dana Wade to be the next Federal Housing Commissioner at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

“MBA applauds the intention to nominate Dana Wade to lead the Federal Housing Administration. Her extensive knowledge gained in previous roles, including on Capitol Hill and within the OMB, and also as the acting FHA Commissioner and Assistant Secretary for Housing, will serve her well in this new position. MBA calls on the Senate to swiftly move to confirm her nomination. We look forward to continuing to work with her, Secretary Ben Carson, Deputy Secretary Nominee Brian Montgomery, and others in the administration to ensure a strong FHA program that provides affordable housing opportunities, both rental and owned, for all Americans, while also protecting taxpayers.”
